Who We Are

We are all highly-experienced researchers, but we have very different backgrounds ranging from arts to education, advertising to style bars.

Neil Griffiths
Neil Griffiths is an award-winning novelist. He has been MD of Blinc for the past 5 years. He has worked in a number of different areas of business and in the arts, and has lived for extended periods in New York and Paris. He is the founder of the44 – the arts and culture discussion site.

Paul Barrow
Founder of Barrow Lanigan Research in 1997, then the BLINC partnership in 1999, he has worked with many agencies including The Susie Fisher Group, Define, Outlook and Corr Wilbourn Research. He founded and co-owned The Alphabet Bar group in London's Soho and created the Cambridge Jones brand in 2004.

Sophie McLaughlin
Sophie has held senior positions in advertising and at the BBC and Channel 4. She has expertise in marketing brands as diverse as LEGO, The Telegraph and BBC Radio One, as well as 10 years research experience. She is the longest-serving member of BLINC. She is a mother of 4. Try juggling that workload.

Luke Meddings
Luke has a background in education and is co-founder of the dogme movement in ELT. His recent book, Teaching Unplugged won an award for innovation in teaching. He is an accomplished musician.

Alex Holland
Alex joined us in 2010 and has already worked on projects for the BBC, Sky, C4 and Digital UK. While at university he won the Royal Television Society Student Award for Best Entertainment Programme, ‘Best Friends That Love Each Other’ – a sketch show.
